Originaire de la vallée de l'Everest, il découvre la culture occidentale et le monde des expéditions comme porteur puis aide cuisinier.
Doté d'une faculté d'adaptation extraordinaire et d'un énorme potentiel physique, avide de découvertes, il gravit rapidement les échelons pour devenir sherpa d'altitude, sidar, organisateur d'expéditions et responsable de l'agence Expes.com Népal.
Aujourd'hui installé à Katmandou, il organise chaque année treks et expéditions sur le continent asiatique, sans pour autant délaisser le monde de la très haute altitude... Il est membre fondateur de l'association humanitaire Montagne et Partage.
